Hi Geoff…we have that in common: many books here and there with bookmarks in place. What slows me down with all of these “started books,” is that I have an old-fashioned, out-of-date Midwest work ethic that meant when there was so much work to do ya didn’t sit down and read a book. You read when the work was done. The work was never done so there wasn’t much book reading in my family. Now, I read in bed at night for about an hour and then turn out the light and sleep. The few times that I’ve said “to heck with it,” and spent a few hours reading during the daytime, I just loved, loved, loved it but I also had a tinge of guilt because there was so much unfinished work just sitting there. I’m trying to get over this so I can get more of my books read during the daytime so I can enjoy them, donate them and buy more. I’ve also got to finish one book at a time because I forget what I read in the ones with bookmarks in them. By the way, I found your list of titles intriguing, especially the one about the Inquisitions.

Just sent pictures of Howard Hughes and Nik Nicely to several people who run facial id programs to compare the two, Just thought you would be interested to know that. The DNA is getting hard to come by but the pictures and the facial construction, especially after all the crashes, should be just as unique! Just FYI!

My cousin in Martelle, Iowa writes that their winter is more like ours in California, but he also feels that it’s almost creepy. It certainly is unusual for Iowa.

Did you hear there is a movement afoot to create a reality show focused on the search for the children of Howard Hughes? Should be interesting, as a bunch of DNA profiles have already been collected. I hear it will be focused on getting the public to vote on who to test and investigate and rewards to the public for coming up with evidence. Should be interesting.

Geoff, welcome to my home state. My family moved to California in 1956 and we visited Iowa in the winter only once. When it turns cold, I rarely leave my planet called California. I’ve become a wimp.
